Prismacolor pencil on paper. 24″ x 18″ -mid 1980s
I was learning to use the Prismacolor soft colored pencils. Queen Tiye is the mother of the heretic Pharoah Akenaten. She probably did not look like this, but i take artistic license. It is clearly the style of a pin-up, and I did a bit of that kind of art when I was that age. It’s chemical. I do not apologize for liking to look at beautiful women. I think, given my skill at the time, that this still is one of my better works.
