This creature was evolved out of recurring imagery in my dreams. The spikey head and wormlike body shows up in other sketches, going back to my high school years. Here I have added wings and given it a single eye (most similar creatures have none) In the background is a rendition of the nightgaunt mentioned in H.P. Lovecraft’s The Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath. Nightgaunts apparently lived in his childhood dreams.
